Crew Management

Indeed, competency of the crew is one major factor of customer satisfaction, hence, the “No training, no deployment policy” of the company is a significant consideration in our quest for a ZERO repatriation due to incompetence.

Upon debarkation and reporting to the office, crew is given a list of upgrading courses he should undertake in compliance with the STCW requirements. If the seafarer is a new hire, the more that DOLSHIP is strict in requiring him to undergo rigid training prior deployment.

Career growth through the carefully structured Crewing Plan made by the Fleet Managers keeps our seafarers on the go. On the other hand, crew briefings, de-briefings and appraisals have helped our crew and the company relate with each other. Aside from the aforementioned activities, DOLSHIP also assists our seafarers reach their highest potential by monitoring their vessel assignment, training needs and promotions.

Having in mind the needed qualities of a future officer for everyone to emulate, DOLSHIP started its On-the-Job-Training (OJT) Program twenty (20) years ago with its pool of young and energetic seafarers. New graduates from the different maritime schools are thoroughly screened, recruited and later given assignments in the office to further enhance their skills and potentials.

Another response of the company in ensuring a steady supply of Disciplined , Organized, Loyal, Safety-conscious, Healthy and Internationally accepted Seagoing Personnel is the Cadetship Training Program (CTP). It is through this program that our cadets are exposed to intensive and comprehensive training based on Principals’ standards and requirements. This is done by classroom education, shipboard training and a post-training evaluation at DOLSHIP guided by their Training Record Book.
